2 – 9 July 2018

Ploiești, București, Câmpina, Ploiești

The focus of the #10 Ţintea Muzicală Festival is on CENTENARIES: celebrating 100 years since the Unification of Romania, 100 years since the birth of the Republic of Austria, the 100th anniversary of the birth of Liviu Comes and of the birth of Gottfried von Einem, but also the death centenaries of Claude Debussy and Lili Boulanger.

As every year, the musicians seek to explore unprecedented convergences of ideas relating to musical works and their composers. Austrian-based mezzo-soprano Carolina Iulia Astanei with pianist Otto Probst, Finnish clarinetist Vivian Neff, electric bass player Sebastian Dumitrescu, violinist Mihaela Mitrofan together with pianist Adriana Maier will perform pieces written by Romanian composers before 1918, but also Romanian contemporary short works. Songs by disenfranchised Austrian composers who were forced to flee Austria in 1938, such as Erich Wolfgang Korngold and Alexander Zemlinsky will be a consistent part of the programme.
